February’s visitors who did not complete their task and came to read the blog have yet to share any comments…

Takeaways I need to work on to improve user satisfaction with my blog:

Focus more on writing about SEO (oops, screwed that one up already!) as opposed to other topics.

Link out where relevant to visitors, not just for the sake of scoring brownie points with link recipients.

Make it more interesting, perhaps with more pictures/colour/video.

You guys have any more pointers? On a related note, I have a very low satisfaction rate amongst respondents who came to “research” (presumably from search engines, mostly). How can I better serve them? If you liked this post on analytics and people, then add my rss feed to your reader.

  1. Very cool. I can see my comment. I'm not a fan four questions. I think you could get better results with something less obtrusive. I've always wanted to test the little [+ Feedback] links that the big corps use. I'll have to ask the guys at work how to make something a little cleaner.

  2. Gab, I subscribe to your feed and have read a few posts over the past few months. One thing I'd like to recommend you testing is removing your self-promotional verbiage, which lies between the end of your posts and the comments. Perhaps this is best to be included under a Services page or on your About page. I have a sneaking suspicion that some readers will read one of your good posts, see this verbiage, then wonder to themselves if the only reason you write is to pimp yourself out? This is not a scientific recommendation, just a gut feeling based upon experience. Keep up the good work!

  4. I'll see about editing that text. Can't remove it because it gets lots of RSS subscriptins, but fair point. BTW, are you related to Brandon Itzkovitz? He was my best friend in grade school.
